DEEP TAN CAMELOT

Hackney-based alternative trio deep tan have spent the hellish last year holed up together writing tunes. Following their spiky 2020 offering 'deepfake', and its unforgettable accompanying video, the team are back with a well-timed new tune that yearns for a big night out. Sonically confrontational, 'camelot' oozes attitude and taps into a desire for debauchery. Set over pummelling beats and angular guitar work, the band explain: “‘camelot’ is an unashamed tribute to ‘the sesh’. a group of people have just been evicted with only 48hrs notice, leading them to have one last rager in order to forget about the stress of not finding a new home with such short notice. coming in at less than two minutes, the frenetic energy of the track sets the scene for total obliteration.” With their eyes fixed firmly on the light at the end of the tunnel after Monday's announcement, the visualiser for 'camelot' captures the trio's wicked sense of humour and their apparent desperation to return to messy evenings spent with friends. -Holly Mullineaux
